Tile Regrouting

Tile regrouting is a repair & maintenance solution used on existing tiled areas. Tile regrouting is an alternative to retiling. Regrouting thoroughly improves the appearance of any tiled area that has suffered years of daily traffic or wear & tear. Regrouting is suitable to almost all tiled areas.
From showers to bathrooms, laundries, kitchen splashbacks to tiled floors. Regrouting can bring back that fresh clean look to any tiled area at an affordable price to suit all budgets, definitely for a small portion of the cost to replace tiles.

Often tiles are in perfect condition but grout begins to crumble and comes away leaving the area looking dull and untidy. If this sounds like your bathroom, we suggest it’s time to regrout.
Regrouting offers numerous benefits over retiling. Tiled areas look as new for a fraction of the cost, & your bathroom is only out of action for 24 hours, not weeks.

For anyone thinking of selling – regrouting aides in a well presented property that can add thousands to the selling price, plus a quicker sale.

    What is Tile Regrouting?

Tile Regrouting is when the existing old grout is removed and replaced with new grout. The old grout is removed with a specialised power tool set to the required depth of approximately 3 to 4 mm. As with any maintenance procedure, it is most important to have the correct tools to do the required work, & that the preparation is carried out correctly for the correct final outcome. Once this has been completed, the area is then cleaned and a new grout with a strength additive is applied. Tile Regrouting uses Sanitized Superfine White Grout which is cementitious grout designed for use with most types of ceramic tiles and natural stone applications. The grout also contains a biocide, which provides it with a resistance to a broad spectrum of moulds & bacteria. On average, grout manufacturers recommend the life of grout is only approximately 10 years.

Why Regrout? – Benefits of Regrouting

SAVE TIME – Regrouting requires the area to be out of action for a shorter period of time than renovating. We are all busy people and nobody likes to take time off work or spend days at home supervising tradesmen. Most full bathrooms can be completed in one day, and your shower will be out of use for only 24 hours instead of weeks.

HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT – Our bathrooms are often the dampest rooms in the house. They become a breeding ground for dangerous mould & mildew which not only looks unpleasant, but creates an ideal environment for germs and termites which can lead to serious respiratory problems – especially for the young & elderly. We all like to feel we are helping to save our environment and regrouting is a far better ‘green’ solution than renovation.

IMPROVE APPEARANCE FOR SELLING – It’s a fact that bathrooms & kitchens can help or hinder the sale of a property. A well presented bathroom or kitchen could be just the thing required to help with your sale. Keep your tenants happy with maintaining your rental property.

SAVE $$$$$ – The Cost of regrouting tiles of a shower or a bathroom is the factor that is definitely the biggest benefit of regrouting compared to retiling, your tiled areas will look as new as when they were first laid for a fraction of the cost of retiling or a full renovation. Retiling can involve many unexpected costs such as disposal of old tiles, plumbing, and new bathroom accessories.
